Reaching young musicians at every stage of their development. 

Next Gen introduces talented young musicians to ECU faculty artists, and Next Gen artists (our alumni!) during a day of intensive study and music-making. Next Gen master classes and career discussions provide valuable opportunities for mentorship. The day culminates with an inspiring concert featuring ECU faculty and Next Gen artists.

WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE?

  • Full-Tuition scholarship.
  • 2 private lessons/master classes.
  • College and career-focused discussion with faculty, parents, and participants.
  • Complimentary tickets to the Faculty Showcase Concert on Saturday at 5:30 PM. (See below for full schedule of events.)

APPLICATION INFO & AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Applications open: Dec 28
  • Application deadline: Jan 17
  • Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
  • Students from 6th grade through 12th grade are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must submit a video of up to 10 minutes of music that best represents their current level to be considered for participation.
    • The recording submission can be one or two selections.
    • All submissions must be a YouTube link. We recommend that the link be a private link.
    • All recordings must have been made in the past 12 months.
  • A limited number of participants will be chosen.
  • Applicants will be considered until all spots are filled. Space is limited. Apply as early as possible for maximum consideration!
